BELL HOUSE
PARBOLD

This was the first ever house designed by Anthony Grimshaw. Built in 1961 on a steeply sloping meadow with the individual rooms at different levels stepping up the hillside. The materials were grey bricks with Columbian pine window frames, heavy structural fascias and a Rietveld-like rainwater outlet channel.

This was published in the Architectural Review and gained a National Civic Trust Commendation.
